Pediatric hospitalist, women's group facilitator, vivid hair connoisseur, and unapologetic romantasy reader.

I created Women Physicians Collective because I needed it too. If you found your way here, I have a feeling you understand exactly what I mean.

HOW DID I GET HERE...

I was doing everything right, but I still felt awful

I want to take you back to a call room in residency. It's 2am during a 28-hour PICU shift. I'd just intubated a baby. I sat down on the bed and felt something rise in my chest that I didn't recognize at first.

What scared me most wasn't the panic attack. It was what came after it — sitting in the dark realizing I had absolutely no idea who I was anymore outside of being a doctor. Medicine had quietly taken over everything. My identity. My schedule. My sense of what a normal life even looked like.

So I did what any millennial would do. I Googled:

"how to find yourself — woman."

That search led me somewhere completely outside of medicine. Women from all different backgrounds, sitting in circles, talking honestly about their lives. No filtering. No performing. No explaining themselves first. And I remember thinking — we don't have this in medicine.

We don't have many places where you can say what this actually feels like without worrying about who's listening or what it means for your career.

Being in that kind of space didn't fix everything overnight. But I started to feel like myself again.

Years later, infertility asked even harder questions of me — about what I wanted, what mattered to me, and whether the life I was building was actually mine. And again, what carried me through wasn't information or a plan or another strategy.

It was community.

Women who understood.

A space where grief and gratitude could coexist without anyone rushing me toward resolution.

I'm a double board-certified pediatric hospitalist and co-founder of the 150,000-member U.S. COVID-19 Physician/APP Facebook group — which started as a text to two friends asking "what is happening?" and became one of the largest physician communities in the country within days. What that taught me is something I carry into everything WPC does: physicians aren't just starving for information. They're starving for each other.

Women Physicians Collective is the space I wish I'd had that night in the call room.

I'm not a guru. I'm a physician friend walking alongside you — and that's exactly what this community is built on.

Why Community, Connection, and CME — together.

Community was the single most important thing on my own healing journey. Not advice. Not a program with a finish line. A space that accepted me exactly as I was, didn't try to change me, and could hold deep, honest conversations about the real experience of being a woman in medicine. That kind of space is rare. It should be standard.

Connection is something medicine asked you to set aside — and most of us did. We learned to persist in a state of disconnect, to run on caffeine instead of sleep, to push through instead of pause, to perform instead of feel. Learning to reconnect with myself, with others, and with the world around me has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life.

And CME — because living fully means taking care of ourselves, and most of us never received education specifically about our own bodies, our own health, and our own experience as women physicians. The Empowered Woman CME Series exists to change that.

Community because you were never meant to do this alone
